Overall Satisfaction with ProjectLibre
I have to start this with a caveat because, if we had been able to get past a personal hurdle, I would have pushed for its use in the company I consulted with everyone. We approached it in the hopes of managing several employees, as well as the timeline of their work. Previously, the company used Excel and Sheets (Google Drive) (more on this in a bit). It addresses the complications of time management for those who are number-resistant; ie - more visually friendly.
- Visual management of time!
- Realistic management (multiple projects at once because not all projects operate independently of others where time is concerned).
- Data handling - reports, etc...
- I will get into this more, but comparisons. Comparison is the evil twin of this program.
- While the company didn't go with it because of what I'd witnessed, I have recommended it to many people I felt fell within their scope. For them, I can see it streamlining their workflow and giving them more time to focus on other things, rather than dwelling on how to run a workflow program.
ProjectLibre is open-sourced, so constantly on the verge of getting better. I think this one is more suited against other workflow programs because it is built for function and (like referenced in another section) not meant to be something you can distract your boss with to prove you're working. It is uniquely functional.
