Parallels RAS, simple, powerful, great value

Student Health and Counseling Services, a department of Student Affairs at UC Davis, uses Parallels RAS to deliver a wide range of windows applications both to remote users and local users on other platforms. This software seamlessly allows us to provide applications to macOS, iOS, Android, and Windows users with native clients that add functionality.

The software is very simple to use, but that doesn't mean it's basic. You can design a segmented remote access farm with high availability load balancing, or just install on a single server. The user management, policy management, permissions, and application/host management is very intuitive. Farm updates are often easy to push out.

Having an HTML5 remote access solution is a godsend. We grant our staff access, enable their two-factor, and point them to a website. It's never been easier for our staff, often technically challenged, to work from home.

We like using Parallels RAS in our Hyper-V environment. When capacity is reached, we often spin up new VMs, sometimes from template VHDX files, so that we can better load balance our staff.

As our business moves to more web-apps, vendor security becomes an issue. Despite running vendor risk assessments and scanning for vulnerabilities, it gives us peace of mind to hide our sensitive web-apps behind the RAS gateways. Our security scanning tool has never found a vulnerability in 3 years with the secure gateway Parallels RAS provides.
