Overall Satisfaction with LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com)

LinkedIn Learning (or Lynda.com) is available to all employees of our organization. The intent was to allow users to train themselves or increase their own skill sets. Any employee is able to access it, but I find that very few are actually using it often, if at all. It is most used by our technical personnel.
  • Accessible
  • Cheap price model
  • Wide berth of available subjects
  • Technical content is surface-level at best.
  • Too many different names. Bad Branding.
  • Very basic; not very feature-rich.
  • Increased number of trained employees.
  • Improved employee skill set.
  • More positive use of employee down-time.
LinkedIn Learning wasn't our first choice; what it came down to for the organization was the cost for the value of the product. The other services provided better training, better metrics, and better reporting. LinkedIn Learning (or Lynda.com) provided the most affordable option that still (barely) accomplished the objective for our organization.
The technical team behind LinkedIn Learning (or Lynda.com) knows their job, and they usually solve problems very quickly. While I haven't had many run-ins with them (thus the low rating), I do find that when we call them, the problem gets resolved in a reasonable amount of time. The flip-side of this comment is that we never have needed to call them with a high-priority issue.
If there's one thing this product does well, it's the user interface and overall usability. If you look up a course, you'll find it; if you want to watch a video, it's there. There's no special wizardry required to make it functional— they either have it, or they don't. They really do a fantastic job of making it painless.

Do you think LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com)'s feature set?

No

Did LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) again?

No

LinkedIn Learning (or Lynda.com) is appropriate for groups that need nothing beyond entry-level training in their field. If you are looking to make yourself or your team into experts, then you are in the wrong place. I would absolutely recommend this to a group that needed to put minor training into the hands of many employees at once.
