Overall Satisfaction with Cisco SD-WAN

We decided to utilize Cisco SD-WAN at our Main data centers as well as at each remote office branch location. Approximately 20 U.S. sites in total for the whole organization. This helped us reduce the mix of P2P, MPLS, and direct-connect circuits across multiple carriers. Could not be happier with the results so far.
  • Very scalable
  • Zero-touch deployment is a huge bonus
  • High availability
  • Great support from Cisco
  • With any newer technology, we had a lack of internal expertise and had to pay for professional assistance
  • The licensing could be more straightforward and better packaged
  • Reduction in MPLS circuit costs were an obvious cost savings win
  • After initial deployment, it greatly reduces the management overhead time
  • Live action analytics are a nice feature
We only compared Silver Peak NX and Cisco SD-WAN. Since we are primarily a Cisco infrastructure shop, it seemed to integrate better than Silver Peak. We liked the confirmed long-term support from Cisco we have grown accustomed to and did not want to take a chance on a new player. Nothing bad to say about Silver Peak, we just chose another route.
