Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is a great platform for a startup to a full-fledged business that wants to deploy their apps and infrastructure to the cloud or just to increase their market presence by going online. We used Microsoft Azure for the VM instances and CI/CD DevOps. We also used Azure to deploy our VPN but had to transfer it to other providers like AWS for pricing and scalability. Using Azure for high bandwidth use case scenario is for me just a waste of money as the data transfer fees are way too high, we got a bill of $3000+ for just the bandwidth, and was still higher than all the Instances and SQL servers cost running combined.
  • Windows Licensing Fees are not present most services.
  • Powered by Microsoft the organization behind Windows.
  • Month to month newsletter about training materials and certifications.
  • Easy Signup process than others just add number, address, identify and done.
  • Bandwidth Alerts and management.
  • Packages for VPN services which use enormous amount of data.
  • Simplified control panel, as it looks so confusing to untrained eyes.
  • Hard to get used to and often need to search for items instead of them being visible.
  • Our licensing fees were saved kind of while using Azure.
  • Admins were having a hard time dealing with issues.
  • Control panel being complicated.
  • These troubles opted us to use AWS instead.

Do you think Microsoft Azure delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Microsoft Azure's feature set?

No

Did Microsoft Azure live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Azure go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Azure again?

No

We used Microsoft Azure for the VM instances and CI/CD DevOps. We also used Azure to deploy our VPN but had to transfer it to other providers like AWS for pricing and scalability. Using Azure for high bandwidth use case scenario is, for me, just a waste of money as the data transfer fees are way too high. Using Azure for VPN is a stupid choice. According to me, there are better platforms like DigitalOcean and AWS for that. The only thing that I can recommend is the use of this platform to save yourself from licensing fees.

Evaluating Microsoft Azure and Competitors

I would say that Azure stacks up pretty good and sometimes better in comparison to what Google Cloud Platform has to offer. I don't like GCP for its absurd licensing fees and it's expensive for just Using EC2 Instances. However, DigitalOcean and AWS can offer far better scalability and ease of use than Azure. Also, they are dirt cheap for what they offer.
