Overall Satisfaction with Dundas BI

We made the decision to move from Tableau to Dundas [BI] based on a small requirement they could meet that Tableau couldn't (automatic email of excel reports). Once getting into the trail and demos, we found so many more features that we loved. I was certain the price would be astronomical, and braced myself for how we'd explain why we needed it to our executives. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the price was not only roughly a quarter of Tableau, but the contract allows for more flexibility in how we use our licenses. We had planned on 12 months to transition from Tableau to Dundas, and are moving as quickly as possible now - the features available are that important to us.
  • Exports of data
  • Data visualization options
  • Ability to have AD and local user accounts
  • Undo button (please!)
  • Undo button (I know I already said it once but I really need it)
  • Undo button (Seriously need this feature)
  • Reduced cost
  • Ability to monetize analytics
  • Increased efficiencies
The feature set is richer, and price is reasonable. We felt we were paying more for Tableau's name than their features, as updates are slow.

Do you think Dundas BI delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dundas BI's feature set?

Yes

Did Dundas BI live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dundas BI go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dundas BI again?

Yes

Tableau Server, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), MS SharePoint
We are still in the implementation phase, but so far we are finding it to be easy to use and learn. The eLearning courses that they have made available for free, as well as User Forums and other training videos have made even difficult concepts easier to understand.
We have bi-weekly calls with our Success Manager, as well as access to support as needed. Any question that I have had, multiple people have been willing and able to jump on a call to talk me through it, or send an email with the solution.
If you have data from multiple sources, you need [Dundas BI]. If you want to display data beautifully, you need it. If you need to send reports automatically in different formats, you need it.
