Overall Satisfaction with Progress Telerik UI

We were able to rapidly prototype and develop a concept application for our new hardware. We needed a way to allow users to move fixed elements around a screen, similar to PowerPoint, and [Progress Telerik UI] had an out-of-the-box solution ready to go. We anticipated this would have required at least two person-months to replicate.

  • It provides a good set of themes and functional additions to a UI development environment.
  • Each control is packed with valuable features.
  • The support team is responsive and very knowledgeable about making their product work in whatever situation you need.
  • Out-of-the-box performance on inferior hardware is lacking.
  • Our industrial PC (2014 Celeron SoC) struggles to load views containing Telerik controls.
  • Adjusting the nitty-gritty margins that are included with some of the controls requires manual adjustment.
  • Telerik enabled us to demonstrate our vision for new flagship software with only a years worth of effort.
  • Telerik provided out of the box solutions for some of our more challenging UI problems.

[Progress Telerik UI] had a specific set of controls that were suited directly to our application space. Telerik also provided a Xamarin solution for very similar pricing, which should allow us to speed up our app development.
Telerik support is very knowledgeable and can adapt to the specific question at hand. Their examples are always well explained and they typically provide customized support solutions for your specific problem. I have never felt like they were responding based on a script. Their communication skills in English are superb.
Telerik provides a plethora of demo examples that have real world applications. All example code was readily accessible and well documented. Telerik also provides pretty solid API documentation, although there were a few places where they were missing some documentation.

[Progress Telerik UI] is well suited to rapid application prototyping and demonstration of UI concepts with good customization and theming options. It struggles on inferior hardware such as dated single board computers.
