Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets
We made the switch as a whole organization about 5 years to GSuite which includes Google Sheets. We used it to replace Microsoft Office. It was an easier way for us to get everyone on the same platform after multiple acquisitions.
- low cost alternative to Office Suite
- Great for collaboration and working on spreadsheets with others
- Good way to keep others updated in the org on the report because they can look in real time for updates
- pivot table functions are not quite the same as Excel so if making the switch prepare for some learning curve
- Different formatting isn't as easily available
- minor but if used to working in separate windows because it is web based makes it difficult to quick switch between websites
- ROI has increased with the lower cost compared to what we were using prior
- negative was the rollout and adoption, make sure you set up the team for success if transitioning from something else
- training, training, training. Make sure everyone using the product has it
Google Sheets when compared to Excel for me is just below in terms of comparison. The product covers almost everything you could need but the workflow and usability is where it is lacking. I would call it a pay for what you get. This review is coming from someone who made the switch from Excel to Sheets so if you are using this for the 1st time.
