Overall Satisfaction with Widen

Our company's marketing department uses Acquia DAM (Widen) to keep track of the vast amount of assets that we have including brochures, sell sheets, images, etc. Before Acquia DAM (Widen) each division and country had a different place where there stored their assets. It made it very difficult to share assets when needed. We have 6 divisions globally and Acquia DAM (Widen) helps us to have one place to manage all assets across the company.
  • The version control in Acquia DAM (Widen) is amazing. Once a file is uploaded, Acquia DAM (Widen) creates a shareable link. This is helpful because the link always stays the same even when you make changes to the document. This helps to ensure customers always have the current version.
  • Acquia DAM (Widen) has metadata and tags can be used to keep assets organized. This includes who uploaded the file, the language, the type of asset, the department, and many more. This makes it very easy to use filters to search for assets. My company has over 2 million assets loaded and I still find it easy to search.
  • Acquia DAM (Widen)'s portal creation tool is also a great feature. An administrator can group assets in portals and grant access to end users. We use this feature to share brochures, sell sheets, and images with our field team. They can easily view, share or download on demand.
  • The search feature could be a little more exact. Sometimes I feel that I have to know the exact title of what I am looking for in order for it to appear.
  • The tool is primarily for asset storage and organization. However, it does allow for the creation of portals. In creating the portals they should make it so that you can add links, documents and collections all in one.
  • Before Acquia DAM (Widen) it was impossible for our global company to keep tabs of all of the assets that we have. Since we started using Acquia DAM (Widen), we have been able to stop duplication of efforts since we all have visibility to company wide assets.
  • Since adopting Acquia DAM (Widen) we have been able to ensure our sales people always have the latest and greatest documents with the version control tool.
Acquia DAM (Widen) is pretty intuitive as I learned to use it by trial and error and a little help from my marketing department. Acquia DAM (Widen) does a good job of working with your organization to training and setup admins and super users. Setting up support within the company is key as they understand the business need and can help in a more meaningful way. In the event that our internal team could not help. The Acquia DAM (Widen) support team was ready to assist quickly and efficiently.

Acquia DAM (Widen) is great if you have a large cross-divisional organization with many assets. It is great to keep all assets in one place and organized. This is really beneficial for sales organizations, training and marketing teams. The version control also allows for users to upload a document and get a shareable link. These links can be shared with the end-user and never changes even when updates are made to the document. This is great to ensure that the end-users always have the latest version. Acquia DAM (Widen) is also great for end-users to download, share and view uploaded assets easily. Acquia DAM (Widen) may not be needed for very small organizations will little assets or just document only sharing.

Using Widen

Acquia DAM (Widen) is very intuitive, it does not take extensive training as some tools do to use the tool. Uploading assets, creating portals, collections and sharing are all very simple. Acquia DAM (Widen) also does not force you to fill out all of the metadata. You can fill out as little or as much as you would like.
