Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets

We use all the Google products (Docs, Sheets, Slides) at my organization, primarily due to the ease of collaboration and sharing across teams. Specifically with Google Sheets, my team is able to track and analyze data collaboratively, allowing different members to add, edit, and comment within the spreadsheet. The features are robust and while not fully capable of what Excel can offer, will likely meet the spreadsheet needs of most users.

  • Easy to get started using for anyone familiar with spreadsheet applications.
  • Offers most all the features everyday users will need.
  • It's not Excel and doesn't have the full functionality it offers, which may be an obstacle for some power users.
  • The fact that collaboration is so effortless means we were able to add Sheets to our workflow seamlessly.
Excel certainly is very robust and is perfect for power users who need to conduct complicated formulations. However, the program is so feature-rich, it's possible that it may be confusing to users. And most users will never need or use 60% of the features available.

Would you buy Google Sheets again?

Yes

For most office workers, Google Sheets offers sufficient capability and provides excellent collaboration and sharing for teams. And even because it has fewer features, it is likely even easier to use for some beginner spreadsheet users. I'm not familiar with the Enterprise cost but I feel it's likely better than Microsoft's. For small SMBs, they likely can use it for free or nearly free.

However, if your team needs more complex formulas and functions and conducts more complicated data analysis, Sheets may not offer you enough.
