Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

We have used Blackline for 8 years. The rollout started with one affiliate and has since been implemented across the entire region. We utilize a suite of products including Reconciliation, Variance, Matching, and Tasks, and are currently in final testing for OIM and Auto Journals. The platform has allowed us to realize efficiencies through automation of manually-intensive processes that require large amounts of data to be grouped and explained. Tasks has been a valuable tool for monitoring closing processes and ensuring that job transitions happen smoothly. The real power is in the integration of the modules as they work together to only require us to "touch" an entry once, and then Blackline takes over and distributes the output across the products as we have designed.
  • Integrates the different products together to allow for multiple reporting outputs with only one input (analysis).
  • Allows flexibility in the way that rules are written depending on the particular needs of each workgroup, process, or company.
  • Maintains controls by assigning responsibilities and restrictions to different user roles, thus allowing for ease of use depending on the needs of each user.
  • Standardization of fields between products (Reconciliations vs Variance, for example)
  • Allow for multiple individual selections when writing rules (as opposed to ranges only)
  • Robust internal controls (creates trust)
  • Data validation (completeness and accuracy)
  • Integration (efficiencies)
  • Reduced manual touchpoints (e.g. Reconciliations)
  • Allows our users to focus on more interesting analytical work over time-consuming downloading and formatting
