Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

Teamviewer is used quite often when we need to connect to remote workstations in order to address issues or to set up software or access certain data. As the Head of IT, we need solutions that make it easy to quickly and easily connect to and correct issues to support 80+ workstations. TeamViewer does a good job of making that process easy.
  • Keep a directory of workstations
  • Easily connect to any workstation
  • Allow remote control of workstations so we can implement changes and fixes
  • Cannot share large files
  • Does not work through proxy servers
  • Every system needs to have TeamViewer and the same version installed on it, or else it won't work.
  • TeamViewer makes supporting workstations easy
  • TeamViewer is priced higher than other solutions that can work well for less....or even for free such as AnyDesk. This reduces ROI compared to other options.
  • TeamViewer is the platform we would prefer to use as our main remote support platform, but they priced themselves out of contention.
TeamViewer works really well and is easy to use when all versions are in sync. So our choice for overall ease of use would be TeamViewer but due to version issues and pricing issues, it is not our primary remote support platform. Should they improve the versioning issues and come up with a more reasonable pricing schedule, we would be very likely to make it our primary remote support platform.

Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?

Yes

Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TeamViewer again?

Yes

TeamViewer is easy to implement on any device, but it is not always easy to maintain it because of the versioning issue. As I have said a few times, the feature set is awesome and it works really well for remote support and the only thing stopping it from really being the go-to solution is versioning and pricing.
We have only used it as is behind our firewall and opened only what was needed to allow TeamViewer to function properly. We have not implemented any of the security features other than those that are inherent when you use TeamViewer. If we used it as our primary solution we would certainly be using two-factor authentication.
Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
TeamViewer is well suited when your network and workstations are straightforward with no unusual setups and where you control the version of TeamViewer that is on the workstation. If you do not control the version of TeamViewer on the workstation then it may not be well suited for your needs as it can be quite annoying when a connection cannot be made due to version issues.
