Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite

I use Hootsuite for periodically scheduling my personal LinkedIn and Twitter posts; both personal and professional. I have used it for many years and have always found it to be a decent and easy-to-use tool. I used Hootsuite for my own personal social scheduling even before I was a business owner. I don't use it regularly but do use Hootsuite as needed and it remains consistent in use and features. I have also recommended it to others depending on their needs, and trust it to be a good tool for social media pros and novices alike. There are good reasons that Hootsuitge remains so popular.
  • Easy to post
  • Nice layout
  • Three free social accounts
  • Easy to schedule
  • Good features for adding images
  • Company has been consistent over time
  • Not too many marketing emails
  • The cost has risen a lot
  • Only 30 scheduled posts for free accounts
  • Not as sophisticated as some of the other options
  • Doesn't auto recycle posts
  • Simple analytics (I haven't used the in-depth features)
  • Increased brand awareness
  • Maximize my time
  • Remain more hands-off in social media management
  • Buffer
I used Hootsuite first and then tried Buffer for a while. Buffer's interface is very basic, and sometimes that was nice to not have distractions. I think Buffer is probably the easiest social media management tool to pick up and start using. But that also meant it phased out pretty easily for me. It didn't take long to outgrow Buffer, so I went back to Hootsuite. Overall, I've been happy with Hootsuite for quite a few years.
It's been quite a while since I contacted support, and I've only used it a few times, [my experience was] very positive. Sometimes being early to the marketplace can mean that customer service falls flat after a lot of growth, but that wasn't my experience with Hootsuite. They seem to keep their customers in mind.

Do you think Hootsuite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Hootsuite's feature set?

Yes

Did Hootsuite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Hootsuite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Hootsuite again?

Yes

Hootsuite is pretty straightforward for posting and scheduling. It's easy to connect accounts and start posting immediately [plus it's easy] to add images and see your accounts in action. For a lot of people and companies, Hootsuite could probably be a great tool. They also have some good training for those who want to learn more or stay updated on trends. The major downside[s] for me, even when looking at it as a paid account were: first, the posts don't automatically recycle and I wanted to be more hands-off; second, after the free account, the pricing increases pretty dramatically, so it would've been a big investment for me. For that reason, I use Hootsuite as a backup or overflow account during certain seasons when I need to schedule posts but don't want to use Smarterqueue, which is my main service.
