Blackline Adds Efficiencies and Process Flow to General Ledger Accounting Team

My organization uses BlackLine as a process flow solution to manage a multi-national team across different time zones. It is an organizational tool that helps with visibility and a real-time understanding of where everyone's work status is. It is also helpful that the system automatically moves prepared reconciliations to a reviewer's queue, eliminating the need for communication outside of BlackLine as to the status of each reconciliation. It is also very helpful that BlackLine will automatically de-certify a reconciliation if the balance changes. This is a great feature that notifies the preparer if something is booked to an account without them knowing. It is an additional safeguard to know that the reconciliations are accurate and up-to-date. It would be nice to be able to assign a range of "days" that a task needs to be completed because sometimes the task does not need to be done on one day of the month-end close, in particular. Additionally, if a colleague leaves the company, the remaining team members are unable to remove recurring comments that the former colleague included in the reconciliation. Overall, BlackLine has been instrumental in our general ledger team's ability to meet our month-end/quarter-end/year-end close deadlines.
