8x8 Series: Great low cost option with limited features

Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 X Series

We configured 8x8 Series to have an auto attendant for the main line along with ring groups for the individuals who would respond to calls into the main line. This was a group of 4 individuals who would then forward the calls to the correct person based on need either directly or to their voice mail. The call flow worked properly for the auto attendant

  • The Poly Phones we had were able to be auto updated and used for 8x8 Series and also when we worked with Zoom and RingCentral. The flexibility of phone usage was great.
  • Inability to transfer calls to voicemail for our receptionist was a negative. Tech Support couldn't determine what caused the issue
  • Quality of Service through our firewall worked great once ruled were tweaked properly giving us improved communication. Unfortunately, took a while to get implemented properly
Zoom, RingCentral and Microsoft Teams provided a better UI than 8x8 Series in my opinion, but our primary factor for selecting 8x8 Series was due to the overall price. It was cheaper when we made the decision to use 8x8. Unfortunately, not all of the features that we used were available with 8x8 Series. Overall 8x8 Series is a decent product and if you don't need all of the extra features, it is a great product for the price and doesn't lock your phones so they can't be used with another product. Also can support older phones. They also handle the updates on the phone once provisioned which is a quick and smooth process.

A low cost environment with limited complexity of the setup. The more complex of a setup that is required, the less I would recommend 8x8 Series. It is great for simple set ups. When dealing with PA systems, we have run into issues. We ran into issues with our Auto Attendant could not forward to voicemail of any users and their tech support was unable to assist us in getting the user to be able to forward to voice mail.
