Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)
I use 8x8 X Series as a secondary phone for when I am traveling or not at my landline. It has nice meeting features that allowed me to get rid of 3rd-party meeting software allowing me to save some additional money vs. paying for Zoom as well. The features have worked great after some initial challenges in setting up.
- Online Meeting Software integrates well with Google Calendar.
- Phone connects to my contacts automatically making dialing easy.
- Softphone goes where ever I do, both on my computer and on my mobile phone.
- Set up was not easy, I had to have several calls to work through issues.
- Chromebook connectivity is not great, but got it to work after lots of trial and error.
- It would be nice to see if there could be something that shows bandwidth available or used for making calls.
- What I pay for 8x8 X Series is roughly the same I paid for Zoom and I get more phone features.
- Dialpad and Grasshopper
Dialpad seemed too basic and Grasshopper used too much bandwidth. Also, customer support at both of these was really pretty pathetic.
