Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

MIP Fund Accounting is being used across the whole organization in one way or another. I support and maintain the environment. I do all the updates and address hardware needs for the environment so business can access this database 24/7. When combined with Citrix my users can access their information anytime, anywhere and from any device.
  • The update process is extremely efficient and straightforward.
  • It uses SQL which I'm very familiar with and can maintain in a centralized infrastructure.
  • Support has always been excellent when I needed it and corrected any issues in a timely manner.
  • It still requires a 32bit MAPI client to do some confirmation emails, however I'm told that will be fixed in the Fall 2016 release. We run 64bit Office 2016 so we can't utilize that particular functionality at this time.
  • Cloud backup integration.
  • Seems to change hands which can be good and bad. I remember when this was Sage.
  • I have clients that have used MIP since 1998 however I'm told no ROI was ever calculated.

We manage multiple funds –
Unrestricted, Temporarily Restricted and Permanently Restricted. We do
not manage by funding sources but we do manage by programs, i.e. our individual
productions.




They were not satisfied with their current product and heard great things about MIP and have been using it since 1998. They love it!!
I believe it works well in my not for profit environments where budgets are everything and although I'm not an expert on the software or use it on a daily basis from an IT standpoint I wish more software was designed and as easily implemented like MIP.
