Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)
CLC is a consulting firm supporting FQHC. We recommend and use MIP for many of the health centers we support.
- Grant tracking capabilities.
- Easy chart of accounts set up.
- Flexibility with reporting.
- Cost, many smaller health centers can not afford the initial upfront expense to implement MIP.
- Not as user friendly especially when it comes to running reports, the balance dates cause lots of confusion and erroneous reports for some of our users.
- Ability to customize reports for board without a lot of manual reporting worth the time savings from previous software
This is MIP's strongest aspect. It's easy to set up multiple funding sources and streamline/customize reporting to meet all the reporting requirements.
Despite it's higher cost, MIP offers the most flexibility with reporting than other programs which while less expensive, were more cumbersome to use and reporting set up was more labor intensive.

Implementation was painless compared to other conversions I have done. A great deal of the work was done by MIP team to incorporate old system into the the new.
I have had other staff members participant in the trainings to familiarize themselves with the new functions, Accounts Payable and general ledger/financial statement reporting.
The only complaint I have is regarding the down time due to a security breach. We were without MIP for several weeks while the cloud version was being fixed. this created a great hardship for our company. Since that time however it has been working great and have not experienced any other issues.
In cloud...as previously mentioned the only issue was the delay to repair our files after the security breach earlier this year which unfortunately was shortly after we implemented the system.
