Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

We use for the whole organization for all of our accounting needs.
  • Use to navigate different sessions, AP, AJ, SJE, CR, etc.
  • Reports are fairly easy once you get the hang of it
  • Drop down menus could be more user friendly
  • Sessions Ids should be able to be changed before posting.
  • I have been using this software since I started here, so there is no other comparison.

  • They did use QuickBooks before I arrived and they do like Abila over QuickBooks.
We have multiple cost centers with different years, Abila allows us to set up different cost code combinations and track each cost center. It's easy to close a cost center or set up dates that the cost center cannot be used past.
We use it for accounting, so it serves all of our functions - accounts payable, receivable, cash receipts, bank reconciliation. We are able to set up budgets, encumbrances and from this we can print detailed GL reports for all of our projects. The encumbrance model is a little cumbersome and could use some improvement.
