Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting
We use MIP in our accounting department only for all of our accounting needs. We use two separate databases as we are a fiscal agent for payroll for another government entity. We also use it for all of our accounting and reporting requirements.
- I am able to have separate projects that cross our fiscal year open at the same time but have them roll up under a fund level.
- I am able to import data from other government systems into MIP which eliminates a lot of data entry.
- The payroll module is extremely flexible in allowing an employee to charge to different projects each payroll cycle.
- Exporting data from MIP for W-2s into Aatrix does not allow me to print the spreadsheet to reconfirm the numbers.
- When updates are released at the end of the year, it has been confusing as to which release needs to be installed to update the tax tables.
- I don't call support very often, but I was placed on hold for an hour and then when I missed the call back I was not able to contact someone directly.
- The positive impact I believe has allowed us to be efficient so that additional personnel is not needed to handle more tasks.
We are an organization that receives many different grants and contracts on many different time tables so MIP has allowed us to keep track of all this detail easily.
I was originally with Huckstep and then was bought by Net @ Work. They have not always been the easiest to deal with and I would like to find a partner closer to our location.
It had all the functions that I needed for governmental reporting even though it seems to be geared only to non-profits and it was priced fairly.
