One of the nicest marketing automation vendors out there

I am no longer with the company where I implemented Act-On, but if I would not hesitate to renew if I were still there.
It all depends on how you want to build your lead generation and nurturing program. Act-On may not have all the bells and whistles of some competitors, but for those needing a simple, effective way to automate email nurturing programs, it is a great value. They are also on the right track in building social media integration and if they can create more detailed reporting and also offer custom reports, they can certainly beat some other guys out there. Act-On has a different pricing method, as they charge based on "active contacts", which is good because you only pay if the software actually helps you generate engagements, but the more successful you are, the more you will pay so take it into consideration.

Evaluation and Selection

Yes - We were using MailChimp, which is good for batch and blast emails but lacks functionality for lead nurturing and for tracking marketing assets and social media.

Price was definitely better, but the ease of use sold us on the product. It also provided just the functionality we wanted without making it complicated to use. We also liked their social media integration abilities and how easy it was to create landing pages and tracking codes.

Usability and price were the key factors that made us buy Act-On.
