Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Act-On has been instrumental in our company's digital email campaign expansion. It's connectors to Salesforce and GoToWebinar as well as the ability to connect through our website makes it one-stop-shopping easy to track campaign activity.

Pros and Cons

Ease of use - Act-On was super easy to implement and hit the road running. It has only gotten better over time as their engineers and developers continually improve the product.
Support - As with any application, there are always exceptions to the rule. Any time we had an issue or question not covered in their resource knowledge base, our CSM would get whatever support resource was required involved to come to a quick and successful resolution.
Reports - Tracking statistics of campaigns is at your fingertips, showing bounces, opens, click-throughs and opt-outs. They are developing more customizable reporting which will be awesome!

Hard Bounce Report - have a customizable option for date range.
General Reporting - be able to have one place to extract customizable reporting, such as in Salesforce.

Return on Investment

We are seeing a better customer experience in our campaigns with Act-On's ability to A/B test, segment lists, and continually keep lists clean.
Nurture campaigns have provided us with solid leads for sales to develop towards purchase opportunities. Our sales cycle tends to be a bit long due to the nature of our solutions, but these campaigns get the leads ready for a deeper dialog with our sales team which can significantly reduce that cycle time.
The ability to send Act-On emails from within a Salesforce record not only reduces the time to develop a crafted message but it then is trackable back through Act-On showing resulting ROI from those emails.

Likelihood to Recommend

Act-On has greatly improved reporting and continues to enhance or develop features to make it more user-friendly and more competitive with the larger automated marketing tools. Their technical support is amazing and our dedicated account manager is always available to field questions and assist us! We have grown along with Act-On over the last few years and they continue to treat their customers as #1 priority.

Support Headcount Required

2 - I had no experience working with an automated marketing application, and was able to pick up the basics in Act-On within a very short time. All my knowledge has been from on-the-job self training so that means the tools provided by Act-On are simple enough and yet robust enough to get a beginner like myself working on automated programs, email campaigns and designing emails very quickly. Our Marketing Manager who recently joined us is a very trained Marketing person and was able to further my training and get our programs into a more sophisticated place again very quickly. I love 2 things especially about Act-On - their amazing support staff being super responsive, and that they are constantly upgrading their application to meet customer's needs! Love them!

Act-On is such a robust application - it covers all aspects and does so in a very simple, efficient manner.

Usability

Improved functionality give this product more depth and easy-to-use menus lead the way! And Support is always available to handle any questions. The reporting has developed into a much better representation of campaign results and trackability. Even automated programs are easily configured, edited and reported. All in all, I find it very easy to use.
