Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization uses Act-On to deploy email marketing campaigns to generate leads for advertising agencies and marketing services companies. It provides us with the capability to set up automated email programs and send thousands of emails to our clients' prospects.

Pros and Cons

Manage multiple clients and segment the client accounts
Activate multi-step automated email campaigns

Set-up requirements and steps are complicated

Return on Investment

Through email campaigns deployed through Act-On, our customers have successfully held meetings with senior-level decision-makers at Fortune 100 companies.

Alternatives Considered

SharpSpring and MailChimp

Act-On has similar features as SharpSpring, but in my opinion, delivers better. While their customer service is not excellent, it is better than my experience with SharpSpring. As for MailChimp, Act-On has more robust features. But, it is also dramatically more challenging to set-up and deploy programs.

Act-On is well suited for activating complex automated email programs but requires a significant investment of time to learn the platform. Act-On is not well-suited for basic email campaigns since the set-up process and capabilities are complex.
