Overall Satisfaction with Act-On Software

We use Act-On as part of our lead nurturing process, and have our Contact and Lead databases synchronized with our CRM. We also have Prospecting and Media databases that exist in only Act-On, and are not in our CRM. We use Act-On for product introductions, newsletters, media outreach, and landing pages. The results of the campaigns are shared with the sales team and upper management. We also embed forms created in Act-On into our website and use automated emails to forward leads to our sales team.
We have three marketing users, with our Digital Marketing Manager being the primary user. Act-On helps us stay in touch with people who want to hear from us and efficiently manage those who don't. It helps us keep our Lead database clean by allowing us to remove people from our CRM who do not productively interact with us. It also helps us consolidate a variety of outbound marketing activities in one platform.
  • Embedded website forms and automated emails when forms are filled.
  • Reporting on results in high-level graphical formats with the option to drill down to individual records.
  • To serve as a portal to store prospect data until it is qualified to move to our CRM.
  • The social distributions didn't render well, so we don't use Act-On for social media marketing. Instead, we distribute directly from each platform.
  • The webinar integration with Webex did not work well, so we do webinars outside of Act-On, using Zoom.
  • We have always had deliverability issues with Act-On, with people in our database who want to get our emails and those who do not.
  • Improves marketing productivity by consolidating and simplifying outbound communication tasks.
  • Supports the sales team effort by keeping our products and name in front of interested parties.
  • Builds our brand through the use of templated messaging.
We used to use a combination of SugarCRM and INBOX25, but we moved to a Microsoft platform and had to go to a compatible platform. Act-On was the perfect fit since it was compatible with both Sugar CRM and Dynamics CRM, which made our change over and integration relatively easy. Marketo is a very robust platform, but really more suited to larger companies using Salesforce. Act-On seems a better fit for a smaller organization like ours.
Act-On is great for outbound email and landing pages, but less useful for social media marketing and event management. It's great for newsletters, product introductions, and promotions. The forms are easy to integrate into a website, and form fills are easy to monitor and report on from Act-On results. It also helps us manage GDPR and opt-outs effectively.
