I've used 4 different pieces of email marketing software in the past: Mailchimp, Aweber, InfusionSoft, and ActiveCampaign. Mailchimp was a good starter software, but as my business grew, and I needed more robust functionality (especially around tagging), I needed something more advanced. I tried InfusionSoft, but it was so complicated and confusing that I didn't end up using the functionality that I wanted to use. I dropped down to Aweber but changed quickly when I realized that they only do double opt-ins. As someone who gets many of his leads by pen and paper, this resulted in me losing a lot of leads that "opted in" in the offline world. Activecampaign has the best of all 3 worlds. So I've been using it for the last 3 years. The robustness of Infusionsoft (at least as far as the functionality that I need), the simplicity of Mailchimp, and customer support unlike any other.
