Overall Satisfaction with Adaptive Defense 360 / WatchGuard EPDR

We use Adaptive Defence 360 on all of our workstations and servers. It helps us keep safe from viruses and ransomware in an ever-changing threat landscape. As threats like ransomware are impacting all kinds of businesses and governmental agencies keeping a safe IT environment is the top priority for IT departments.

Pros

  • Protects against unknown threats
  • Protects against ransomware
  • Blocks/ filters websites based on categories
  • Is easy to deploy

Cons

  • Reporting is mediocre and charged as a separate service
  • MacOS support is rudimentary
  • Patch management should be covered by the base license
  • Security has greatly improved, which provides an ease of mind to the IT Department
  • There is a web management console from which every endpoint is centrally managed reducing the time that the IT staff has to spend on each computer/server
  • Policies make it easy to provide different settings for different types of computers/servers
There been a long time since we've used any product other than Adaptive Defence 360 but since we adopted it we haven't looked back. In fact, we replaced a freshly purchased copy of Norton with it as it was not meeting our needs at the time, though the product might have changed quite a bit since then.

Yes

Did implementation of Watchguard Endpoint Security go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Watchguard Endpoint Security again?

Yes

It is very easy to set up and deploy. The web console offers all the necessary features to set it up fast. It also offers an overview of the current security status from which one can drill down to get more details. It has a fairly user-friendly interface without dumbing it down.
Centralized policy configuration and endpoint management is one of the strong suits of Adaptive Defence 360. It has made it easier for us to better secure our IT environment and faster to deal with possible threats. While it is very powerful with numerous configuration options it strikes a great balance between usability and features.
It is great for Windows computers and servers, it is mediocre for MacOS computers. It is very good at preventing unknown and potentially dangerous applications from running protecting users from possible new viruses or ransomware strains. Also, web filtering cuts off communication with command and control centers so even if some ransomware is installed it will fail to activate.
