Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

Our organization produces a large amount of content that is consumed by the general public, and other specific audiences. Our organization is required to produce content that meets accessibility standards to ensure compliance with federal accessibility laws. Our preferred document format is PDF and Acrobat DC allows our content creators to use the built-in accessibility tools to ensure that what they are creating is compliant.
  • Ability to check documents for accessibility issued.
  • Ability to reduce the file size of PDF documents.
  • Ability to convert other document formats to PDF.
  • User interface can be confusing to navigate.
  • Lack of good documentation.
  • Document conversion to PDF
  • Accessibility checker
  • Reduce file size
  • Increased compliance with federal accessibility requirents
  • Increased productivity
While Acrobat DC is a very good product its user interface can often be confusing for our users. Some of them find that there is a steep learning curve, however, once they have used the software for a while they do generally get the hang of it.
We heavily use Adobe products within our organization due to the overall high reputation that they have within the IT industry. They are second to none when it comes to providing secure, reliable products, even if their user interfaces are confusing at times. Our organization has seen an overall increase in productivity since we adopted Adobe products.
  • Microsoft Office 2016 (discontinued)
We do use Microsoft Office for document creation, but documents are always concerted to PDF prior to being distributed outside of our organization. We find PDF to be a better file format for sharing as opposed to docx files.

From our experience using Adobe Acrobat DC, we have found it to be highly effective when creating documents that are required to be accessible for users with disabilities. The accessibility checker quickly creates a report showing what issues exist within the document. Unfortunately, it can be a little confusing for some users as to where to find the accessibility checker.
