Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

We use Adobe Acrobat DC the most for the secure signature of financial documents, and overall most of our Adobe Acrobat DC users are in the financial department. Additionally, many business-to-business contracts are received or sent via Adobe Acrobat DC. Knowing that the document cannot be changed is crucial to all parties. This is becoming standard practice for many IT service contracts. We also use Adobe Acrobat DC to create How To documents. While other tools can create PDFs, formatting is more consistent with Adobe Acrobat DC.
  • Protected fields
  • Formatting
  • Signatures
  • Better organization of Options and Settings, especially security related
  • Keep ahead of the hackers (doing okay, but constant threat)
  • Constant updates; zero-day flaws are addressed quickly
  • Able to handle complex formatting, consistently
  • Contracts are unalterable, but fill-in fields, and signatures are easy to set up and use
  • Moving to a corporate license made it much easier to manage users and billing for Adobe Acrobat DC. Saved hours of management.
  • Less training, because only one product to support.
I gave it this rating because it is able to review documents on several different devices. I haven't tried everything, just PCs and Apple so far.
There are many products that can read, print, and even edit PDF documents, but none, not even Microsoft, is as transparent or as quick to provide updates. Nobody's perfect, but everyone else is inadequate in my opinion. Adobe Acrobat DC releases updates consistently and communicates better. Because they are the standard bearer, they get a lot of scrutinies; that is a good thing.
Adobe Acrobat DC formats more consistently, is available on more devices, and is secure. It is easier to manage for the company because of the enterprise portal. Assigning licenses, or re-assigning licenses is fairly easy.

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

No

The most common standard--almost universally acceptable--for e-signatures.

Evaluating Adobe Acrobat DC and Competitors

Yes - Naturally we used Adobe Reader initially, but we needed the ability to edit documents.
Of course, MS Office can open PDFs, but occasionally messes up formatting.
Finally CutePDF used to offer some editing, but it is not maintained well enough to be certified for use for our company.
Only Acrobat DC includes secure e-signatures as well.
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
With the constant threat of software being compromised, knowing that any flaws (and software is always flawed) will be fixed quickly when discovered makes the cost worth it. It isn't cheap, and in fact free products can do most of what Adobe Acrobat DC does, but in the end, free is sometimes the most expensive mistake one can make.
Get enterprise licensing sooner.
