Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate

I use it find learning solutions. I also teach workshops on it and like to add external web objects. I'm known for importing web and Animate files (OAM). I then use JavaScript to get the two objects to talk to each other.
  • Mobile development.
  • Exporting to HTML5.
  • Advanced Actions.
  • The built int JavaScript editor.
  • Workflow for creating content.
  • Interactive video.
  • Screen captures to make videos.
  • Sometimes you have to do a LOT of clicking in order to get something done in advanced actions.
  • I have had it crash a few times.
  • Overall it's fairly quick to develop with so it saves time and money.
Can't touch Authorware. Too bad Adobe killed it. I'd love it if Authorware could be resurrected, modernized and export to HTML5. THat would be the ultimate tool. Animate can do a lot more but it takes a lot more time to build.

Do you think Adobe Captivate delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Captivate's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Captivate live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Captivate go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Captivate again?

Yes

It's well suited for rapid development of eLearning. It's good that it works with an LMS well and can produce some nice looking content.

It does need some newer templates and the JavaScript window SUCKS. I tend to write the code else where and then paste it into the JS window.
