Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Illustrator CC

As the creative director, I have been using Adobe Illustrator CC for about eight years to create and edit 90% of our marketing and branding assets. I create logos, banners, website graphics, email images, social media graphics, brochures, event signage, product graphics, video slide graphics, workbook assets, and much more. Adobe Illustrator CC is my go-to when it comes to creating any graphics-related materials for our company.
  • Great for creating simple and very complex graphics.
  • Very diverse when it come to what can be created.
  • Connects and works well with other Adobe apps.
  • Love the ability to save assets, colors, fonts, etc.
  • Love the Adobe Typekit integration for getting new fonts.
  • The ability to easily use bullets and numbers would be a life saver.
  • I wish we could pay a little more to add another device to our account. Currently the subscription is good for two devices at once. We have two computers in our office that use Adobe and I also use it on my laptop from home. I am constantly having to log out of another device to access it from another device.
  • I wish I could save doc settings the same way I can in Photoshop when creating a new document.
  • Integration with other Adobe Apps
  • The ability to create and edit graphics on the fly, right here in our own office
  • The ability to create various types of graphics
  • Speed and ease of use
  • Although I am paid and it's part of my position, Adobe Illustrator CC has saved us thousands of dollars a year because we can create most of what we need in house and don't have to hire other people.
  • Because we use it in house, I can create something the second I need it. If we outsourced the work, we'd have to wait hours, if not days, to receive what we need.
  • Again, the ability to create so many types of graphics saves us from having to spend money on other specialty applications.
I have not used any other graphic design software but I have used Photoshop and InDesign. If you're looking to create graphics, especially scalable vectors, Adobe Illustrator CC is, hands down, the best tool out there. Photoshop is much better for photo editing and manipulation. InDesign is better suited for layout work. The great thing is you can create your scalable art in Adobe Illustrator CC and then bring it into apps like Photoshop and InDesign to add graphics to photos, fliers, brochures, magazines, etc.

Are you happy with Adobe Illustrator CC's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Illustrator CC live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Illustrator CC go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Illustrator CC again?

Yes

I believe Adobe Illustrator CC is well suited for 90% of your graphics needs. You can create so many different things with this one app. It's great for art, graphics of all kinds, logo design, some layout work, social images, signs, and much more. It's pretty much a one-stop shop designer. While it's great for most design work, I do not recommend it for photo editing, I would use Photoshop and Lightroom for that. It's capable of layout design, but I would recommend InDesign if you are doing more layout work as it has way more features and is basically designed for layout work.
