Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is now used by many persons on the flow (over 200 persons) during production. Artists use it to create textures and different types of maps. With Photoshop, we can easily give a nice look to our games.
  • Easy to learn. Learning curve is super fast
  • Easy concept of layers
  • Many different export formats available
  • We are using it in the video game industry but Photoshop does not have a good solution to build a normal map
  • The normal maps are used in the game industry for a long time, but everyone has to use a different software for them
  • Extracting map for 3D models. Photoshop SHOULD have a "extractor map." Adobe should look to how Xnormal does it.
  • Negative ROI. Right now, we pay for Photoshop but other software do the same things and more. Right now we are challenging our users to ask themselves if they really need Photoshop now. Adobe should think about 3D.

Photoshop is still better in terms of mechanics. It is a less artistic workflow, but still solid compared to others.

Do you think Adobe PhotoShop delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe PhotoShop's feature set?

No

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe PhotoShop go as expected?

Would you buy Adobe PhotoShop again?

Yes

Manual re-touch is super easy. Copy channel, color correcting is also super easy. Masking is really nice. Map extractor SHOULD be there soon. But features for the gaming industry are not there.
