Overall Satisfaction with ADP SmartCompliance
Currently I use SmartCompliance to update our SUI rates to ensure ADP is in line with the notices we receive from tax authorities. I am able to set up new tax authorities when needed and maintain our tax profiles, but one of my favorite features is being able to pull down any of our tax records if I am notifed of an issue of what wa reported or confirm a fiing has occured. Not only does SmartCompliance provide different reporting capabilities, you have the ability to access invoices and check on funding, load agency notices for research, but we also use it for Garnishments. As SmartCompliance has evolved, I've noticed that I use it so much more for tax research and balancing. It has really become a regular tool for me.

- Access to tax records is a great addition so you do not have to rely on your client representative to provide the information
- Ability to resolve exceptions when there is an issue with a file, such as a new tax jurisdiction you may not have been aware of and passed tax data to ADP
- The hHelp Center provides both internal and external links links to different tax and compliance resources, which is extremely helpful since it isn't always easy to get to the correct one when it comes to the states.
- Would like to see a little more detail on erros that show up when running quarter error reports. Sometimes the code explanation does not give you what you need to research fully.
- The amont of time it takes to be notified of a resolution after loading a tax notices is very long and then not complete. When they provide a letter that states more information has been provided, please include that in our notice package so we are awae of the additional information provided

Workday
Integrations are a huge time saver when you have multiple FEIN's and in all states.
Signing up for publications like "Spark" help me stay in compliance by making me aware of up and coming changes by state so that I can reserach further or just stay informed by the publication. Having access to Smart Compliance also allows me to keep up with my organizations tax liabilities and status so that I can be prepared for year-end.
We have four FEIN's with a very large remote staff so we have used ADP for many years for all our tax filing needs. We have been please with ADP and the use of SmartCompliance so we have not looked into changing companies for this need.

ADP SmartCompliance provides access to all your Tax Profiles, allows for maintenance & reporting. The "Help" function not only assist with getting you to what you may be looking for, but also provides links to external resources for garnishment information or to the IRS. The ADP links has a tax resource area for research and helps link you to application forms for new state registrations. There are a lot of resources in this area to help you stay up to date and in the know.
For the most part I have had a good experience with compliance personnel, though there have been times where I don't feel I have received a straight answer and they kind of go in circles. ADP has served me well with the amount of information provided in SmartCompliance, as well as the links to other resources. Clients even received e-mails with helpful information and links where you can obtain further documentation. For example, I was very pleased with the communication sent out about the new Connecticut Paid Family Leave for 2021. While we were aware of it and working on our configuration, each state is different and we were not aware that this state required an additional registration. The notification we received provided the necessary link, as well as a document of instructions. While I am not sure this came out of SmartCompliance, I was very grateful as a tax client to have received it as opposed to finding this out after we ran our first payroll in the new year.

2 - We use it to upload SUI rate notices, tax authority research, as well as have access to previous tax records and ability to load a tax notice for ADP to research and resolve with the agency.
2 - We have a very small payroll department, a Director and specialist,that utilize SmartCompliance and it does not take any special skills. Once someone goes over the basic functionality it is easy to navigate and just poke around to find different items.

I honestly do not know the level of support that we have.
My Client Representative always gives me a head up when there are some changes coming up and she will walk me through them so that I can see what to expect.
