Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

There are many different ways to find research documents as they come from many different sources that all have their different systems. Alphasense is great because it compiles research and company data well into a single plane and then layers in robust search capabilities on top. That saves me time as I do research as just finding and compiling research can be quite a burden.
  • Compiling historical company materials
  • Search function is great
  • Ability to search across different material types
  • UI is a little bit laggy. Not a huge problem but other sites are much snappier
  • There's sometimes gaps in integrations with research providers
  • Better research process
  • Faster search
Decently usable, just a bit clunky compared to something like BamSEC but has better depth. The search engine is great because it takes your keywords but also finds similar words/phrases to get at what you're looking for. I find that to be quite useful.
I don't use Alphasense directly for competitive intelligence
Deeper than BamSEC obviously (many more research sources and international companies) but UI on BamSEC is cleaner/better.

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

Good for most investment analysts I would imagine. Its most powerful tool is just compiling and searching against sell-side research, which can come from many different banks. It also captures international filings and documents well. If you only look at SEC company filings as part of research then Alphasense is maybe a bit overkill.
