Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

I use AlphaSense at Morgan Stanley in my day-to-day activities as I am a Financial Analyst. AlphaSense helps me to quickly and easily search a compendium of documents, both financial and informative, relating to the companies and industries I cover. The ability to rapidly search through documents (especially when using IF and AND connectors) has been tremendously useful in aggregating the difficult-to-find data buried in lengthy documents. Without AlphaSense completing many functions related to my job would take me significantly longer.

  • Ability to save documents as PDFs.
  • Searching more information "related" to your search, or what you usually search.
  • AI to tell you what search terms people who are looking at a specific company are searching for.

  • More informed decision making.
  • Faster access to relevant documents/data.
  • Ability to screen for press releases, articles, etc., that otherwise, you would not have the time to.
AlphaSense has always been very usable, in my opinion. Outages or issues are brief - if any. It also does not present a large strain on my computer, and as such, I am frequently able to run multiple instances of the program and compare data side by side. Overall the user interface is very intuitive, and everything functions mostly as you would expect. Minimal training is required.
Being able to create a custom watchlist of all the companies of interest is huge. I can screen all relevant news in the last day or week (which is something I do nearly every day) to confirm I have not missed any critical news or related bits that may go unnoticed by someone without the product.

AlphaSense is a phenomenal tool to use day to day as a financial analyst. It truly saves me 3-4 hours a day digging through documents. The only issue I can think of is that you do need to know what you are looking for often to find it efficiently. Aside from this, I would recommend it to anyone in a similar job function.
