Great platform when used correctly!
Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
I am an Anaplan Consultant who implements Anaplan for enterprise-level customers. Over the last five years of implementing Anaplan, I have delivered several use cases, which include Territory and Sales Planning, Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, and Financial Planning and Analysis. One of the biggest benefits I have seen our customers realize during my time as an Anaplan implementor has been the standardization of processes across functions while going through the implementation process. Typically, most of our customers were using several Excel spreadsheets prior to using Anaplan, which resulted in multiple methodologies when generating a forecast. During the implementation process, we were able to create one planning process that was usable across functions and regions.
Pros
- Real-time calculations within the model
- Collaborative space for users to enter data, create a forecast
- Easy to learn coding language
Cons
- Elective ALM process
- Dashboarding capabilities
- Create a non-sparsity when no data is actively consuming a cell within a module
- Centralized place for users to create the forecast
- Integration capabilities
- User security provisioning
- Business has much more time to make decisions rather than create the forecast
- Fast adoption time
Anaplan is a very flexible tool in comparison to most EPM tools. Because it is all custom made and there is no true "Out of the Box" solution, businesses are able to tailor the Anaplan model to meet their specific business needs. If you can create it in Excel, it can be done in Anaplan.
