Anaplan Customer to Consultant
Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
In my previous role as an FP&A manager for a $4.5 Billion company, we chose Anaplan for FP&A and WFP (Workforce Planning). Prior to Anaplan, we were using Excel, and the planning process would take 1,000's of hours. We chose Anaplan as it allowed for real-time updates and consistent assumptions to be used as well as enabled us to make changes in a matter of minutes instead of hours. The FP&A implementation included Volume Forecasting, Revenue, Freight, COGS, and SG&A expenses. Anaplan cut a significant amount of hours from the planning process and made the planning process much more accurate. I loved Anaplan so much I decided to leave my FP&A manager position, so I could help other companies [with] their implementations. In my current position, I aid other businesses in implementing Anaplan in a variety of use cases. I have guided, and designed implementations for FP&A, WFP, and ICM, and Anaplan can be used for so much more.

Anaplan is WAY more customizable, and the reporting capability in Anaplan is eons ahead of Oracle. Oracle has a predefined terminology and number of fields which can cause many companies to feel like they are trying to fit [a] square peg in a round hole. The reporting functionality (graphs and such) is an extra cost and is archaic and cumbersome in nature.
