Overall Satisfaction with Apricot by Social Solutions

We have a database of clients who we provide social services too in Passaic County. Apricot allowed us to bring our entire system from hard copy to soft copy. This was a real lifesaver when COVID arrived because our team was already using the system. It helps us track who we give aid to, and what exact aid we have given them, which helps us prove impact for more funding and grants.

  • User friendly for creating new forms.
  • Customer service is always available.
  • The jump from essentials to the core price point is way too steep.
  • Training my team on how to use it after was cumbersome. It would be cool if there was a training module automated for my specific forms.
  • I had to find a lot of work arounds using email triggers to automate notifications that were necessary especially referrals and notifications to managers.
  • Amazing for COVID: it was really helpful to not shut down.
  • Good for staff: saves time for reporting on grants.
  • Good for clients: all of their information does not get lost and we don't spend time looking for their lost files or looking through their file for things we need now that everything is organized into subforms on Apricots.
We have not achieved this benefit yet. That is due to sustainability on our end and nothing to do with Apricots. We are now able to scale up, however we don't have enough team members to manage a higher level of business model right now. The only way we have achieved this benefit is by speaking to our funders about the amazing detailed and live reporting we can do through use of this technology.
It has shown us that the proving impact option with specific reporting is actually very usable. We used it to show our now partners, why they should partner with us, in addition to the actual services we provide. It helped us show them that their information and their client's information would be handled responsibly. It also gave us an organized way to work with them, while not breaching our own client's safety by utilizing secure web forms to create a referral process.
It is well suited for small companies with a lot of clients/consumers. It is definitely not suited for small businesses with a few clients, especially because it is expensive. It could be cheaper overall, especially since we build the entire forms ourselves. It is helpful that there are ready-made templates but I did not utilize any.
