Arena has been great fit for our growing company
Overall Satisfaction with Arena
We have used Arena since 2002... first in the US. It is now used in multiple sites round the globe... in the US, Mexico, China, Thailand, India, UK, Slovakia, Czech, etc. It is our primary tool to manage PLM, engineering changes, sharing of data with our suppliers, quality, and program management.
Pros
- Integration of suppliers, from around the world, into our processes.
- Management of engineering changes.
- Project management - we all have the "same version of the truth" for the status of a project.
Cons
- Improved integration of Arena to native CAD
- Improved integration of Arena to ERP
- Because we can easily share data with our supply base, we are able to more quickly and effectively respond to a customer's RFQ. (this would address "time to market")
- Being able to connect with suppliers around the globe allows us to consider more suppliers, and potentially more cost effective suppliers. This allows us to quote a more competitive price to our customer.
- Use of the PLM, Quality, and Projects tools allows us to more effectively manage projects. We are all working with a "single version of the truth." Our team members do not have to search for data - because it is all located on Arena.
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
When we signed on with Arena in 2002, clearly cost was the single most important factor - especially for our company size of approximately 20 at the time. Arena has grown with us since then... to more sites... with many additional product features as well.
It was very easy to deploy. And it is easy to customize for our use. It was implemented on time. We have always had good interaction with the Arena team members.
At the time, our only customer was General Motors and they used Siemens TeamCenter. As a result, we considered implementation of that application. Ultimately, the cost of Arena, the ease of implementation, and cloud-based solution were the factors that guided our decision to choose Arena.
