Pros
- gathers new windows updates
- provides interface to approve updates for groups of VMs
Cons
- reporting
- VM compatibility
- reduces time spent managing windows updates for multiple customers
- provides reporting on multiple customers when Azure isn't able to
increased efficiency for patch management, with one interface to use for all updating needs across multiple customers. The reporting feature is something Azure does not have via lighthouse currently and this is a major reason for using Automox. Reporting has had some issues, but support has been mostly responsive to our issues.
Automox is much more reliable than OpsRamp. Reporting is also much better with Automox. There are still areas for improvement for Automox such as consistent reporting and more accurate compatibility with VMs as we have found the minimum PowerShell version is not checked during the compatibility scan on each VM
