Overall Satisfaction with Avalara
Our department uses it but the entire company utilizes it to calculate sales tax even if they don't know that's how it's getting calculated.

- Tax Codes Help a lot
- I feel that their tax codes for services are often times too generic and not enough
- The Business Licensing process took too long to actually get things sent to the states
- Matrix Master is just ok. It's helpful and I need it, but it's not super responsive or adaptive to customer needs.
- Fiiling returns and calculating tax has been made much easier. The next pain point I have is trying to figure across all 26 of our divisions how is everything taxed across all states. I would love to see Avatax find a way to make tax codes clearer for me as my company does a wide variety of services and it's very challenging getting to the right code.
- Our self-created system called VGM Order.
Our IT team seems to think it went well.
We have benefited from the Managed returns filing. I'd like to look into certificate management but we are not there yet.
- Sovos Compliance
We use them for 1099's but not for sales tax. I would say they are similar but Avalara has a better user interface.
