Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp
Basecamp is being used as our main center for project management, tasks management, SOP's and some communication. It replaced a few tools for us and let us be more focused on doing the right work while using fewer tools and communication avenues. We used it for our entire organization and our different areas of responsibility.
- It does simple project management and organization really well.
- The daily questions and reminders kept our team engaged and updated.
- It saved us money each month with their single tiered price.
- I wish it had nested tasks lists.
- We had a lot of small projects and the list got really long. There wasn't a great way to sort or organized them.
- There were times when we found that we had too much going on in a single project and wished there was more organizational options to sort better. We had to change a little how we thought about larger projects and break them down into smaller ones.
- It saved us a lot of money over other project management tools.
- Overall management of files and our SOP's became a lot easier having everything in one place.
- The daily reminders and questions had a surprisingly positive affect on our remote team keeping them engaged and interacting with each other.
There is a simplicity that basecamp offers where most other project management systems seem to miss. They've worked hard at keeping the right things in place and not adding so many of the extra features that just get in the way of getting work done. The thing I liked most about Basecamp was its ability to get out of the way so we could get our work done. So many other tools require a lot of time just to use.
