Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp

We currently use Basecamp to keep track of all of the tasks on a particular project. There are tons of small details for each project and we want to make sure that nothing is overlooked. Several people in our company are involved with every project so we need to make sure that everyone has access to one "master list" of tasks for each project.
  • Very intuitive.
  • Changes and updates by team members are real time.
  • The ability to create templates saves an incredible amount of time.
  • Updates should be included in the purchase price.
  • Projects should be able to be copied - later versions of the product may include this ability; ours does not.
  • Assigning a team member and a date to a task should be able to be completed all in one click. Right now we have to assign the task then go back in and assign a date. This is more time consuming but it's still a quick process.
  • Keeping track of tasks which, if not completed, could potentially affect our billing schedule.
  • All team members can see at a glance what tasks have been completed and what tasks are still outstanding.
We have not used any other project management software. We started with Basecamp and we've never felt the need to use another program.

It's very appropriate when projects are very similar and a template can be created that saves time. It's especially useful when a project has many different tasks that must be kept track of and these tasks are assigned to different members on the team. It would not necessarily be useful for projects that have only one or two tasks to complete.
