Overall Satisfaction with Birst

We use Birst for a range of reporting, primarily around sales. We have 200 Birst users across most departments in the company. We use Birst for sales performance against sales targets, comparative sales reporting (this year vs last year etc) and sales analysis. We also use it for Discount analysis and sales commission calculations
  • Visualization capabilities are good
  • Having a datawarehouse is very important
  • Generally the end user experience is good
  • Performance could always be better
  • We don't allow end users to develop their own dashboards and reports. Too much risk that they might accidentaly change something they shouldn't
We originally selected Birst because they are a Partner of our ERP system provider. We re-evaluated and reconfirmed that decision after our new investment through a one week prototyping exercise that proved how quickly something that delivers real content and value can be built in Birst. from the prototype we have moved on to develop dozens of different dashboards
Very well suited to environments where source data needs to be manipulated and aggregated in a completely different way than the source system supports
