Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud eTapestry

I use it for tracking donations from individuals, corporate sponsors and grants. I use it to send out mailings for tax receipt purposes and we use it for our newsletter distribution. We also use the notes section to keep track of who we call, send thank you letters to and for information about the donor.
  • Tracking donations
  • An improved newsletter system with auto save
  • Less emails sent to user of eTapestry by Blackbaud
  • More intuitive systems that are easier to navigate
  • It gives us a good detailed history of present and past donations.
  • Helps us manage our monthly and annual donation receipts.
  • Let's us know when a donor began giving.
It's not a very intuitive system and lacks some basics of computer technology, e.g. autosave while producing a newsletter. Running reports is difficult to learn, but once you have the template it's nice that it can be saved. Sometimes when I call for support I feel like I'm trying to be convinced about how great the system is, or being sold on the next level up, but I just need answers to today's questions.
We have researched 2-3 other donor platforms and we just aren't at a place to change, although we are very tempted. eTapestry is getting us by for now and we don't look forward to the day when we have to change platforms and have to change things for our monthly donors. We worry about attrition if our donors have to change platforms.

No

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Blackbaud eTapestry go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Blackbaud eTapestry again?

No

Blackbaud eTapestry used to be more affordable, but now with the addition of an annual $600 enablement fee, it puts it out of reach for some nonprofits. eTapestry is their older system, but the new one is well over $7,000 a year, probably even more now, and not affordable to smaller nonprofits. eTapestry has the basics that we need, and we have used it for multiple years, we are just disappointed that the cost has gone up so much without a lot of improvements.
