Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use NXT to manage our donor database and track gifts we receive, gifts pending, etc. Helps our development officers keep their portfolios efficient and productive. Helps our database manager produce reports showing progress. Helps our gift processing team import gift data
  • Track gifts by event, campaign, appeal, etc.
  • Allows us to easily organize portfolios and track donors
  • Is user friendly for our development officers which leads to them utilizing the platform more than before our transition to NXT
  • It was a bit of a transition for our development officers - there is a lot NXT can do and getting familiar with all of those functions can take a while
  • I prefer working in database view and find it easier to pull reports and make changes to records in that view
  • Confusion over the purpose of the list function has tripped us up and we tend to use query and export in database view instead

  • I do not have this information as my position has nothing to do with the contract with Blackbaud, the cost, etc. My boss is involved in that work and would know but I have not been told.
It has helped us in regards to portfolio reviews and making officers' portfolios more diverse and more potential for new and larger gifts.

I just think there is SO much NXT can do online trainings once are not enough, users need to be encouraged to revisit the trainings again once they have used the platform a bit as you learn more once you are actively using it.
I have only used RE. We are not planning on switching at any time. We just transitioned to Nxt last year.

Yes

It is definitely suited for those working in philanthropy and needing a platform that helps development officers keep their portfolios organized and thus efficient and productive. Also helpful in tracking our future totals as officers can easily track their pending opportunities.

Using Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

30 - Development officers and administrative processing roles
1 - Our database administrator helps handle some IT questions with NXT but if things get above her head we utilize Blackbaud's help desk.

  • monitoring our performance annually
  • Has helped with portfolio reviews and thus making portfolios better performing
  • Used photo feature to help with bios especially for events
  • Has made it easier to do maintenance on records
  • We are always looking for ways to further utilize NXT and the user friendliness of this platform will hopefully help our officers use it to it's full potential and thus make their work easier and more efficient
It does exactly what we need and has users of the database version of RE this is a huge step forward especially for our development officers.
