Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

BlackLine is being implemented for this client across all finance and accounting in all countries. The teams inherited extremely manual processes that BlackLine is helping to automate such as balance sheet auto-certifications. We just started implementing journals and looking forward to great automation there.
  • Auto-certification of balance sheet recs that makes sense to have no human involved.
  • Dashboard reporting of status at anytime.
  • Workflow for reviewal and approval.
  • Reporting is a bit cumbersome - should have more drop downs to help with selecting parameters.
  • Customizable auto-certifications for balance sheet recs.
I was not involved in the selection of BlackLine and have not used any other similar software.

Reporting could use some improvements.
At least during implementation, BlackLine has been turning around changes and responses extremely quickly. They are very engaged and even training the company's IT on many things about their own SAP system.
Well suited when there aren't significant exceptions. Once you get into exceptions that may be more industry specific, the rules in BlackLine don't fit and there doesn't seem to be many customizable features.
