Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

BlackLine is used by the entire accounting department. It solves several problems for our organization. BlackLine streamlines the month-end close process by essentially creating a to-do list of entries, a seamless approval process, and integration with our ERP system. It provides us with a platform to organize and explain balances in our accounts. We are now looking to implement the matching functionality to solve the problems of large data sets within Excel.
  • Journal entry module is a huge time saver during month end close. It keeps the team on task and integrates seamlessly with our ERP System.
  • Matching is a powerful tool that assists in reconciling large data sets.
  • The reconciliations module makes it incredibly easy to find the details needed to explain the balance sheet accounts.
  • BlackLine can be a bit slow during month end close.
  • The grid can be improved by allowing users to click anywhere in a row to select the item.

  • Matching
  • BlackLine frees up time associates used to spend explaining balances. Associates can now focus on working exceptions and other value add work.

BlackLine is great for large companies that need to organize their accounting tasks and assign them to associates. It helps make getting through audit a breeze. It is also great for reconciling multiple and/or large data sets and freeing up associates from manual data manipulation. The cost may be prohibitive to smaller organizations.
