Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

Blackline helps us maintain close efficiencies and find the gaps through the reporting analytics to help us achieve a faster and more accurate close. This also houses all of our reconciliations and approvals (time stamped). We currently use this mainly in the US but will be rolling it out internationally to all of our teams within the year.
  • Time-stamped reconciliation approvals.
  • API Interface with main accounting platform.
  • The ability to customize account structure (high priority, occurrence, etc.)
  • The platform can be hard to navigate.
  • The community help page is a bit difficult to find supporting docs.
  • Unless you add the additional reporting feature, the reports are pretty slim and not customizable.
  • Reconciliation Time Stamps.
  • Reporting.
  • Customization of account flags.
  • Blackline has definitely helped us close faster.
  • Get a better picture of where our inefficiencies are.
  • Provide a single place where records are held for closes.

Blackline has helped us become more efficient in our close and move us from a 5-day close to 3 days. It also allows us to maintain all of our close documents with time-stamped approvals in one spot across the organization. You will almost always have to buy additional features to get the full benefit of the software, for instance, the reporting package to get more insight into close metrics, etc.
