Overall Satisfaction with Blogger

I use Blogger for a variety of purposes, including curating a local news website. The platform allows me to easily upload news items, photos, and more. It is simple to use and a product that I use several times per week. I've been using it for more than a decade now.
  • Simple to use
  • Easy to set up
  • Easy to integrate
  • Easy to publish articles to the web
  • Easy to publish photos
  • Some features and UI are on the older side (though I don't mind this)
  • Google changed integration on custom domains
  • Easy publishing
  • Ease of use
  • Ease of editing
  • Helped to share to FB
  • Creates a permanent record we can use later
  • No major negatives
I've used both extensively and like both of them. Each has its strengths and weaknesses and some of the difference is through the use of HTML vs CSS. Both function well for this purpose and both allow for customization of elements, including sidebars and widgets. One major difference is that there are paid functions in WordPress but not in Blogger.

WordPress, Microsoft Office 2016 (discontinued), Google Slides
Excellent for running a custom website, even ones that are not a traditional blog. Includes many ways to customize the site, including access to the source HTML code. It's a lot of fun to get the site exactly as you'd like it. Pretty strong for a free platform. Some features are better and some worse, than WordPress.
