Overall Satisfaction with BlueJeans

We use Bluejeans to connect legacy H.323 systems in our three offices. These meetings are twice a week and run for multiple hours a piece. The biggest users are these legacy rooms, however, when folks are traveling they can call into these meetings remotely. We also use it in a limited fashion for other meetings.

Pros

  • Handles latency or any dropped packets very well.
  • Has a great testing room if you need to send to an external party to confirm it works in advance.
  • Service is very reliable, not many outages in the 6 years we used it.

Cons

  • Price is high compared to other options.
  • Not as many other organizations use BlueJeans so you are limited in connecting at times.
  • Fewer dropped calls meant more time for the actual meeting so folks were more productive.
  • Since users that were traveling could still join important meetings remotely, it allowed fewer absences.
  • Zoom
BlueJeans has better integration with legacy H.323 systems.
Since we use it with legacy systems you still have to take a few steps and make sure users are educated on using it for such, so it is not a one-click join for those systems.
BlueJeans is great if you have a lot of legacy equipment that you need to bridge into the cloud. If you are starting from scratch, other options are likely better. Cost can also be a hurdle if you are a small company who are looking to roll out lightweight video conferencing.
